SCRANTON -- The Scranton Fire Department will soon have a brand new engine on the streets.
Engine Four will take a 15-year-old engine out of regular rotation.
Eventually, the department will get rid of another fire engine purchased in the late 1980s.
The assistant fire chief tells us for the first time in about a decade, the city is using money from its general fund to buy an engine or ladder truck.
The new engine cost $350,000.
Officials hope to buy a new ladder truck as well in the near future.
