Scranton church celebrates Hispanic culture

Iglesia Electric City Church is marking the end of Hispanic Heritage Month

SCRANTON, Pa. — A church in Scranton is celebrating the end of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Iglesia Electric City Church along Wood Street in Scranton hosted 'Celebremos las Naciones, ' a Spanish phrase meaning 'Celebrate the Nations', to honor the 14 Spanish-speaking countries represented at the church.

Organizers say it's their way of honoring the diverse cultures in the community.

"We're here to celebrate God. You know, it's Sunday, and we come to church to worship him and learn more about his work, but at the same time, we took today to celebrate our roots and, you know, our cultural differences and how they all unite us as well," said Daniel Diequez of Dimmock.

The celebration at the church in Scranton included games, food, and decor that represents the beauty of Hispanic culture.
