Scranton business getting into the Halloween spirit

Penn Furniture hosted a trunk or treat event on Sunday afternoon.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Penn Furniture along Lackawanna Avenue in Scranton hosted its second annual trunk or treat event on Sunday.

The business welcomed ghosts, goblins, princesses and more for some family-friend Halloween fun.

First responders from Lackawanna County were the real life superheroes on hand, doling out candy to trick or treaters.

"We always have seen police as our heroes and we wanted to spread that to the local community as well. And what better way to do that than have children see them as a positive influence," said Alex Jaffe of Penn Furniture.

Workers at Penn Furniture say the event provides families with a safe way to load up on Halloween candy in this part of Lackawanna County.
