Scrantastic Spectacular underway in Lackawanna County

From live music over on Biden Street for entertainment to an array of food trucks and vendors, Newswatch 16 's Jack Culkin shows us the celebration.

SCRANTON, Pa. — The Scrantastic Spectacular was underway on Thursday. People started to make their way down to Courthouse Square for the holiday tradition.

"It's a beautiful day out; enjoy the fun; games in everything out here," said Michael Steltz of Scranton.

Bounce houses kept the kids busy while parents and others tried foods and drinks from the many businesses found on all sides of Court House Square.

From live music over on Biden Street to keep people entertained, to an array of food trucks and vendors. New companies like Lacka Lemonade Company are putting a twist on the classic drink to help keep those coming out nice and cool.

"We do freshly smashed lemonade, so we call it handcrafted 'cause we muddle it. So it’s a little bit different; this is our first event in Scranton, so we are super happy to be down here as well. Our biggest event to date as well," said Emily Williams, Lacka Lemonade.

"We've sat in this area the past; this is our third year now. We find that this is the best place to be," said Amanda Friedman of Clark's Summit.

As one of the hundreds watching the fireworks light the sky, Navy Veteran John Heuberger says it's great to see everyone celebrating the red, White, and blue.

"There's the Philharmonic, there's being part of this great crowd every year," said Heuberger. "It's nice to see everybody here, all the different people together and everything."

From the fireworks, live music, and more, it was another successful Scrantastic spectacular here in the Electric City.
