SCRANTON, Pa. — Lots of smiles aboard the Electric City Trolley as children and their families took a ride with Santa himself.
Santa on the Trolley is a longtime holiday tradition for the Electric City Trolley Station and Museum.
"Santa on the Trolley has been around for many years, even before Covid, so it's definitely been a staple. We get lots of customers and visitors during this month. It's a really exciting time at the museum," said Tara Muklewicz, Electric City Trolley Museum.
This 45-minute ride is a way for families to get in the Christmas spirit.
"We leave from here and go up to Montage Mountain. You go through a mile-long tunnel. There's many sights along the way that our conductor points out," said Muklewicz.
Families celebrated the season by posing for pictures with Santa.
Santa visits with each child, asking them what they want for Christmas.
For some families, the trolley ride is a tradition. This is the second time Ryan Rogan and his family have done this, "It was amazing. Santa was great, everyone here. It was great for the holiday season, enjoying our families and what's really important," he said.
"Oh, it was great! We had our granddaughter and all of our children and their spouses and soon-to-be spouses, so we had a great time. It's a great service for the region, that's for sure. We went all the way up to the ballpark and back, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. It was wonderful," said Bill Schoen, Scranton.
Santa on the Trolley runs Saturdays and Sundays until Christmas. Reservations are recommended.
