Benefit held for boy with aggressive form of Muscular Dystrophy

The Eagle Hose Company in Dickson City hosted the fundraiser for the Hetzel family on November 16

DICKSON CITY, Pa. — The Eagle Hose Company in Dickson City on Saturday, November 16 hosted a benefit for the Hetzel family as they support their son Ryan who's battling an aggressive form of Muscular Dystrophy.

Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy is an aggressive form of genetic muscular dystrophy that 8-year-old Ryan was diagnosed with in February.

The Fundraiser called 'Rally for Ryan' at the Eagle Hose Company included a raffle and dinner for Ryan's supporters raising money for experimental treatments Ryan is undergoing at UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh weekly.

"It is a very rare disease. It attacks every muscle in your body, so we're really hoping that this clinical trial gets us somewhere, or there's some cure somewhere one day. So, we're really hopeful and we're really grateful for the trial we got in." Said Ryan's Mother Krista Hetzel.

Tickets for the fundraiser were $10.

If you weren't able to make it to the fundraiser, you can support the Hetzel family through GoFundMe.
