Rig wreck shuts down part of turnpike in Lackawanna County

Several lanes were closed between Clarks Summit and Taylor.

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. — A section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike is closed due to a tractor-trailer crash.

A rig rolled in a construction area before 7 a.m. Wednesday, closing the several lanes of Route 476 between Clarks Summit and Taylor.

Traffic is being detoured onto Interstate 81.

There is no word on injuries or how long the turnpike will be shut down in Lackawanna County.
