PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Huge snowflakes covered the woods and roads in Lackawanna County for much of the afternoon on Tuesday.
Further north along Interstate 81 in Susquehanna County, flashes of snow and wind slowed traffic.
"This is normal for the northeast, right? We are kind of used to it. Two weeks ago, we're out on the motorcycle in short sleeves, and today, we're like, I'm glad the studs are still on the car," said Al Carey of Montrose.
Although it was the first full day of spring, Al Carey of Montrose says it's not uncommon to see snow this time of year.
"I think the weather's changing, and nowadays we are spoiled compared to decades ago," added Carey.
Residents in Susquehanna County weren't the only ones who experienced a wintry mix of weather in early spring. Communities here in Wayne County have also been dealing with snowfall and winds throughout the day.
"I actually sent a video to my siblings down in Florida of the snow, it said, ' Here look spring in Pennsylvania,'" said Ginny Williams.
Ginny Williams of Starrucca says roads throughout Wayne County would turn slick after snow squalls passed through. But she says if you live in the northeast, it's just something you have to deal with this time of year.
"It's northeast Pennsylvania. It's just the way it is, unfortunately. We would love sunny weather like we had last week, but we get snow, especially up here," added Williams.
While much of the snow that fell in Lackawanna County has melted away, the frigid temperatures remain, but for how long?
The Stormtracker 16 team may have that answer.
