Race raises money for American Cancer Society

Runners took to the pavement Sunday for a good cause.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Runners raised money for the American Cancer Society this morning in Scranton.

It was the 32nd year for the Hook O'Malley One Mile Firecracker Run and Walk Race Against Cancer.

It was all in memory of Paul 'Hook' O'Malley, a boxing coach who lost his battle with cancer.

"That's why we're here today, keep his memory alive, a lot of his fighters were here, a lot of people, he was like a father. He wasn't just a boxing trainer; he was like a father." said Patrick O'Malley, Co-Director of the race.

Two students from Scranton High School won today's race.
