DICKSON CITY -- A new restaurant opening up in Dickson City on Thursday may be a fan favorite of anyone with Pittsburgh ties.
Pittsburgh-based Primanti Brothers opens in Dickson City Thursday, serving up sky-high, mouthwatering meats and cheeses topped with the works.
"It's not just your typical sandwich," said Allen Bayout. "It's hard core. Piled up meat, cheese, fries, tomato, slaw traditional. Only at Primanti's can you get it, not anywhere else."
The restaurant is decked out in Pittsburgh décor, mixed with some Scranton-area flavor.
Newswatch 16's western PA natives: Julie Sidoni, Amanda Kelley, and Jon Meyer went into the Primanti Brother's kitchen to see how the legendary Pittsburgh specialties are made, including the popular, aptly named "Pittsburgher," and a new Electric City burger, trying to cater to their new hometown.
"We like to please," said cook Ryan Shanahan. "You can have it any way you want it, but try it no other way to get it."
The coleslaw and the french fries are going right on the sandwich. You can order this stuff on the side if you prefer, but Primanti's suggests you give it a try.
You can try Primanti's out for yourself beginning Thursday in Dickson City or if you line up Wednesday night starting at 8 p.m., the first 100 people will get free sandwiches for a year.
