SCRANTON, Pa. — A priest from the Diocese of Scranton has been found guilty under canon law of the sexual abuse of two minors.
According to a statement from the Diocese of Scranton, Monsignor Joseph P. Kelly was placed on administrative leave after being accused of sexual abuse in 2020 and 2023.
The Catholic Church concluded its four-year investigation, immediately forbidding Monsignor Kelly from wearing clerical attire or presenting himself as a priest.
