SCRANTON, Pa. — One man is dead, and another is in custody after a deadly shooting in Scranton early Monday, according to police.
Officers responded to a home along the 1700 block of Pittston Avenue around 3 a.m. for reports of gunfire.
A man later identified as Walter Reyes, 35, of Scranton, was found inside the home with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Carlos Rivera, 24, was taken into custody and faces homicide, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment charges.
Police say the deadly shooting is the result of a family dispute, and there is no additional threat to the public.
Rivera is awaiting arraignment in Lackawanna County.
