LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — Scranton Police responded to two robberies in Lackawanna County that were just seventeen minutes apart on Friday around 6:30 p.m. and are looking for the man involved.

Investigators believe both robberies were carried out by the same person, a man possibly in his mid-40s. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.

Scranton Police say the man entered the PNC Bank on Penn Avenue in Scranton wearing a black face mask and demanded money from the teller, but he fled without obtaining any money.

Seventeen minutes later, police believe the same man, dressed in the same way, entered a Sunoco Market on North Keyser Avenue in Scranton.

When he approached the counter, he sprayed the cashier with mace, took money, and fled the scene.

Investigators believe a car was used in both robberies and are working to identify it.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Scranton Police.

This is a developing story; it will be updated when new details are available.
