SCRANTON, Pa. — Two people were shot in an armed robbery in Scranton on Thursday night, according to Scranton Police.
Officers responded to the Sunoco gas station and convenience store in the 1700 block of North Main Avenue in Scranton around 10:45. Thursday.
Police found two victims inside the gas station—a male, age 26, and a female, age 25. An employee of Sunoco tells us the woman was working as a cashier at the time of the robbery. Both were taken to the hospital.
Investigators arrested Shelton Miles, 64, of Scranton. Miles was charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, robbery, and firearms violations.
Scranton police executed a search warrant at a home at the intersection of Brick Avenue and Market Street.
Newswatch 16 was there as police gathered evidence at the scene, and there was a noticeable bullet hole in a window of the business.
Scranton police say this is still an active investigation but believe there is no threat to the public.
