CARBONDALE -- Police arrested and charged a man after a bank robbery in Lackawanna County.
Carbondale police say Matthew Tomlin, 32, of Dickson City held up the PNC Bank on South Main Street around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to police, he handed the teller a note saying he had a gun and demanded money in specific denominations.
Police tell us Tomlin took off in a minivan with two friends.
Officers spotted the vehicle just a few blocks from the bank and took all three people in for questioning. Police said they found a handgun and about $1,000 in cash in the van.
Investigators say Tomlin acted alone and told the others he needed a ride to "cash a check."
Tomlin was charged with robbery, terroristic threats, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, simple assault, and disorderly conduct.
