SCRANTON, Pa. — A splash pad and two pools are what Scranton city officials say are coming to Nay Aug Park.
The new designs were unveiled at the park Wednesday afternoon.
Officials say the construction will be broken into two phases and will cost about $12 million in total.
"We are so excited to be able to get to this point, and a project this big, something that's around probably $12 million all in, it takes a lot of public input, a lot of input between the city administration, city council we have a REC authority that also works up here at the Park, so it's complicated it's government, but we are very happy to be able to have got to this point," said Mayor Paige Cognetti.
Crews hope to have the first pool open by the summer of 2026.
A second pool and the finished splash pad are expected to open by the summer of 2027.
