Part of a road in Scranton will be shut down for years due to construction.
A portion of Nay Aug Avenue shut down Wednesday and will reopen in the fall of 2026.
The closure is part of the Green Ridge Street Bridge Replacement Project.
Pedestrians who use the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail will need to use the below detour while PennDOT constructs a temporary roadway along Green Ridge Street. The temporary roadway is expected to be completed by the spring of 2025.
Once completed, pedestrians will be able to access the trail along the temporary roadway.
Green Ridge Street will remain open for pedestrians throughout construction.
