Outreach Center for Community Resources receives TEGNA grant

The nonprofit in Scranton helps local people with workforce and family development programs. TEGNA is the parent company of WNEP.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Helping women with children reenter the community after being in the justice system—that's what a donation will be used for in Lackawanna County.

On Tuesday, the TEGNA Foundation donated $3,500 to Outreach Center for Community Resources in Scranton.

"We're all grant-, contract- and donation-funded, so it's really important when people give. It allows us to make sure our staff has what they need so they can serve the needs of the community around us," said Lori Chaffers, Outreach's executive director.

The TEGNA Foundation supports nonprofit organizations in communities served by TEGNA Inc. The community grant program serves to address local community needs. TEGNA is the parent company of WNEP.
