SCRANTON, Pa. — The Scranton Police were called to the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Dickson City of a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Domenick Velez, 27, of Passaic, NJ.
Scranton Police say Velez was in Scranton to buy a vehicle.
The owner of the vehicle tried to rob Velez and then shot him in the back.
Velez is expected to be okay after the shooting in Scranton.
The police are still investigating, although they believe the incident is isolated and there is no further threat to the public.
