NEPA Horror Fest returns for its 4th Annual "Spooky Summer"

This year's theme: Candyman. The fest will host a meet and greet with the film actors Tony Todd and Virginia Madsen.

DICKSON CITY, Pa. — Horror lovers everywhere are not going to want to miss NEPA's 4th Annual Spooky Summer. This year, the fest is bringing even bigger faces from the big screen to meet you right here at home.

The NEPA Horror Fest returns to Lackawanna County this Saturday at the Circle Drive-in in Dickson City.

The horror fest will screen the 1990 film Night of the Living Dead and the 1992 classic Candyman on the big screen. It's an experience organizers say is like no other.

"When you're in your car, and you're there, and it's right there on the big screen, and it gives a really interesting element to the atmosphere being outside and watching a scary movie, you know, especially in the summertime," says John Casper.

The Horror Fest is bringing what they call legendary horror actors from the big screen right here to our area.

The fest will host a meet and greet with Candyman actors Tony Todd and Virginia Madsen.

Casper is the guest ambassador who will be showing Candyman actor Tony Todd around Scranton before the fest.

"This event is all about [the actors], and it's making their day special, but it also celebrates the local community as well as bringing in people from the surrounding area to showcase what Scranton has to offer, so I think that makes it special," said Jessica Meoni, co-organizer of Horror Fest.

Meoni says the horror spectacular will bring all types of vendors to showcase and sell their horror crafts.

The Horror Fest will also feature bands like Silence Equals Death, Suburban Downgrade, and many more bands from around the region for a lineup full of live music all day.

"We do have a lot more vendors this year. We probably have as many new vendors as returning vendors, so I'm definitely excited about that. I do think that the line for Candyman is going to be even longer than in previous years of other actors, so it's going to be a great day," said Meoni.

There is a NEPA Horror Fest kickoff party at The V Spot in Scranton Thursday at 9 p.m. To find more information about the kickoff party, click here.
