SCRANTON -- Marywood University's incoming president met with students and faculty Wednesday.
Sister Mary Persico will take over for President Sister Anne Munley in July.
She shared some of her vision for the school.
"The world in which we live is so evolving, every day, that there are new needs that pop up all the time. So, yes, we'll be reaching out, way beyond northeastern Pennsylvania and hopefully we'll get the kinds of students who want the kind of education we can offer."
Sister Mary Persico is a native of Hazleton and attended Marywood before becoming a sister with the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
She was also an adjunct professor at the university.
