Marywood University honors veterans by lighting luminaries

Students at Marywood University honored veterans in a special way on Monday by lighting luminaries around its campus.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Luminaires lit Marywood University's campus Monday night to honor veterans, families, and all those who have served.

It's a way for students to thank all the veterans they know.

April Paciotti served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years and is now a student at Marywood.

"I love it, I love the lights, I love the honor of it. We used to do this on active duty for those that have been deployed or currently are deployed, and it's just a way to show respect and to honor them, and so I like to bring that here to Marywood and honor our current students," said April Paciotti, Military Veterans Specialist.

Marywood University will also host Salute to Service basketball games with the National Guard on December 7.
