SCRANTON, Pa. — Couples in Lackawanna County can once again get marriage licenses at night.
The program was suspended during the pandemic.
Register of Wills Fran Koveleski announced on Thursday that the office will revive the popular program by offering nighttime hours once each month for couples to obtain their licenses.
The Marriage License Bureau at the Lackawanna County Government Center will be open from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month through October.
"We know it's difficult for some people to get to our office during daytime hours," Kovaleski said. "This provides an opportunity for them to get their licenses according to their own schedules."
The following dates that the Marriage License Bureau will be open evenings are listed below:
- April 25
- May 23
- June 27
- July 25
- August 22
