High school marching band showcase held in Lackawanna County

On Wednesday evening, ten local school district marching bands presented their field and musical talents at the Mid Valley Spartan Stadium.

THROOP, Pa. — Ten high school marching bands from across Lackawanna County came together to perform on Wednesday.

Mid Valley High School hosted this year's Marching Band Showcase. Each marching band presented its field show, which is performed weekly at football games. Students, faculty, family, and the community came down to support and celebrate musical excellence.

The schools that performed were:

Carbondale Area High School, Abington Heights High School, Riverside High School, Scranton High School, North Pocono High School, Western Wayne High School, Valley View High School, Honesdale High School, Lakeland Jr.-Sr. High School, and Mid Valley High School.

"Tonight is dedicated just for the kids, for all them to watch, and they get to perform with a nice big crowd who's nothing but supportive to them. Cheer them on, as they're cheering them on right now, and it's just such a great opportunity for all these young musicians," said Jonathan Mengoni, Mid Valley High School Marching Band Director.

All proceeds from the showcase benefit the Mid Valley High School Marching Band in Lackawanna County.
