CARBONDALE, Pa. — A man is charged with aggravated assault of a child after a 5-year-old was rushed to the hospital over the weekend.
35-year-old Devon Boone was arraigned Tuesday night in Carbondale.
Police say he is the boyfriend of the victim's mother.
Investigators say Boone allegedly punched and threw the child, causing him to suffer a traumatic brain injury.
The child underwent emergency surgery and remains in critical condition.
Boone faces aggravated assault charges as well as endangering the welfare of a child in Lackawanna County.
