SCRANTON, Pa. — Authorities in Scranton have charged a man with homicide after a woman's violent death in the city last month.
Donnell Brunson, 55, of Taylor, was charged Monday with criminal homicide and risking a catastrophe after Danielle Barbuti's body was found in a home on Luke Avenue in Scranton on November 29.
Court papers indicate that Barbuti, 49, had severe face and head trauma and appeared to have been violently assaulted. Several bloody knives were noted at the crime scene.
Police charged Brunson on December 1 with aggravated assault based on their ongoing investigation.
Witnesses told police Brunson was in a relationship with the victim.
Bail for Brunson was denied, and he is locked up in the Lackawanna County Prison. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on December 27.
