SCRANTON, Pa. — A man has been charged after allegedly firing a gun inside a grocery store in Lackawanna County.
Police responded to the Gerrity's Supermarket along South Main Avenue in Scranton's West side around 4:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a gunshot fired in the rear of the store.
According to court paperwork, Charles Reina, 52, had a gun and keys in his pocket and claimed the keys released the safety and hit the trigger, damaging part of the floor and ceiling.
No one was hit by the gunfire.
Reina was taken into custody shortly after and faces several charges, including firearms not to be carried without a license, recklessly endangering another person, and discharging a weapon within city limits.
