Lt. Governor Davis shows support for Governor Shapiro

During his stop in Scranton on Wednesday, Lt. Governor Austin Davis also voiced support for Governor Josh Shapiro.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Lt. Governor Austin Davis voiced support for Governor Josh Shapiro on Wednesday during his stop in Scranton

Shapiro is one of a few democratic leaders on the shortlist to be Vice President as Kamala Harris' running mate. While no decision has been made yet, Davis says Shapiro would be a good fit for the role.

"Josh Shapiro has been a tremendous leader in Pennsylvania and a tremendous governing partner for me. We are so lucky to have him leading the commonwealth at this critical time. I'm so glad people at the national level recognize he's able to bring people together to get things done here in Pennsylvania. So I'm excited for him to continue his public service, whichever way he does that. I'm happy to be his partner," said Lt. Governor Austin Davis, (D) Pennsylvania.

Davis also said that if Shapiro were to be chosen as Harris' running mate, he'd be prepared to take over as governor. He said he's been active in the day-to-day tasks in Harrisburg since taking office last year.
