SCRANTON, Pa. — A World War II veteran is celebrating a milestone in Scranton
Folks with the Gino Merli Veteran Center threw a party today for Joh Lubek.
Lubek turned 100 years old on Saturday.
He served in a tank division during the war, and was also a cook.
" I never dreamed of being this old. But things happen that you know not of. You never know what the next day is going to bring. Life is full of surprises and just thank the lord for each day." said Lubek
For his birthday, the Gino Merli Veterans Center took Lubek to see his favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees, over the weekend.
