Local superfans prepare for the Super Bowl

Two superfans from Lackawanna and Luzerne County are preparing for the Super Bowl on Sunday.

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — From his Tudor Games football set to pictures plastered throughout his home in West Pittston, John Disanferdinando would say it's fair to call him a Kansas City Chiefs Superfan.

"They mean the world to me besides my religion, my family, my health, and whatnot. I've always loved the Chiefs since I was a little boy," said Disanferdinando.

Countless game day trips and meetings with stars past and present. Disanferdinando says he's been with the Chiefs through it all.

"This is truly my passion. I love my Chiefs. We look forward to the season; It's like you look forward to Christmas," added Disanferdinando.

Due to his team's recent success, The West Pittston native says the Chiefs have been labeled villains this year. But in the same words as Patrick Mahomes, Disanferdinando says it's a privilege to be the villain.

"I just thought I was gonna watch those highlights of Super Bowl for, you know, for the rest of my days, I was going to check out watching Hank Stram roam the sideline. You know they got Andy Reid, they got Patrick, he's raw, and Trav and the guys, I've met a lot of these guys. You know, one Super Bowl, then another right now. We're just taking it all in," Disanferdinando said.

In Lackawanna County, another superfan is suited up with accents of red and gold.

Chris Aiello hopes the San Francisco 49ers can defeat the villain Chiefs, who he says stole the Super Bowl from his team four years ago.

"We only live once. This may be the last one, could be thirty years from now, but why is it extra special? Because the Niners have the greatest team they have ever had in the longest time. Their team right now is better than 2019," said Aiello.

The superfan from Peckville is known throughout the area for going above and beyond for the San Francisco 49ers. Decorating his yard and home year-round.

"So if I just throw on a jersey, I just feel like I'm just sitting back, but if I get into a costume and I put body paint on, I feel like I'm right in the game with them, right behind them," added Aiello.

As the countdown to game time ramps up, Aiello has one message for his team.

"Bang, bang, Niners game. Let's get this win, baby, come on," shouted Aiello.

Super Bowl 58 is all set for Sunday in Las Vegas.
