ARCHBALD, Pa. — The snap of Styrofoam containers means another Thanksgiving meal is ready to be delivered.
"All over our, our local community uh through all of Archibald and Eynon," said Rich, a member of the Eynon Archbald Lions Club.
For 10 years and counting, the Eynon Archbald Lions Club has filled hundreds of homes with hot and ready meals to celebrate the holiday.
"Do it every year. It's great for the community. Um Everybody likes to volunteer for it. We all turn out for it. We help before and after," Tracy Zaleski, also a Eynon Archbald Lions Club member.
While the food has stayed mostly the same...
"Great fresh turkey gravy, mashed potatoes, we have um, desserts that we serve also," said Zaleski
Renia's Place along business route 6 in Eynon serves as the organization's new cooking headquarters.
"We weren't gonna tell them. No, we're, we're very community based. A lot of them actually come into our diner to eat. Um So there's a lot of familiar faces makes us feel amazing," said Tiffany Montijo, Owner of Renia's Place.
The collaboration between Renia's and the Lions Club helps serve more than 300 people the traditional holiday meal.
"We're really into giving back to, uh, we've, we've given away whole birds with the sides and everything, single serving dinners for people that needed it. We do it for Christmas too with lasagna dinner. So it's really important for us to get involved with stuff like that," said Montijo.
A way both groups can give back to those in need this holiday season.
