LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — In Lackawanna County, the Santa Train celebrated a major anniversary Saturday as it made its way down the historic railroad line.
The train stopped at six different stations. Santa and Mrs. Claus were on board to greet kids and families with surprises.
The Santa Train has been a holiday tradition since 1996, but it took a two-year hiatus until its post-pandemic return last year.
The event is a way of honoring the region's rich railroad heritage.
The D&H Line was one of the most important railroads in the country, connecting local coal mines across the Atlantic seaboard.
