GOULDSBORO, Pa. — A 41-year-old man was locked up Monday in Lackawanna County on charges he shot a bouncer of a Covington Township strip club in the foot.
Zachary Clayton Seese, of Canadensis, fled from the Grandview Gentlemen’s Club after allegedly firing off a round from his revolver just after 3 a.m. Sunday, striking bouncer Genrikh Kopeikis in the foot, state police said.
Seese was captured later Sunday at a motel in Monroe County.
State police said the club’s surveillance cameras captured footage of the incident.
According to their review of the footage, Seese fought with Kopeikis and hit him in the jaw with a club. Kopeikis disarmed Seese, who then pulled out a revolver and fired, state police said.
In an interview with troopers, Kopeikis said he believed the gun went off by accident during a struggle over control of the weapon.
He added that the fight started because Seese had been behaving belligerently at the club and Kopeikis wanted to calm him down.
As he left, Seese threatened that he would be back with his friends. Authorities, however, caught up to him just after sunrise at a Knights Inn in Hamilton Township. The Jeep Grand Cherokee that he used to flee the strip club was parked outside.
Seese would not speak with investigators, according to the complaint.
Seese faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and illegal possession of a firearm.
He remains jailed in lieu of $250,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 11.
