SCRANTON -- It wasn`t an ideal night for outdoor concert Tuesday night, but diehard fans of KISS and Mötley Crüe weren`t going to let a little rain keep them away.

“We do have the tickets. We want to enjoy the show. It`s a good night. I`ve been fortunate to have good weather at Montage so this is kind of the penance that we have to pay to enjoy a show out here tonight with this rain,” said Jim Roberts from Shavertown.

Tailgaters at Toyota Pavillion did what they could to stay dry: taking cover under tents, umbrellas, and ponchos.

Concertgoer Walter Bohner even used the bad weather to make a couple bucks.

“We`re selling ponchos. I figured inside you`re going to pay $5, $7, maybe $10,” said Bohner, who came out from Bloomsburg. “Out here two for $5, you get one for you, your wife, your kids, you got a lawn seat it`s going to be wet.”

Others didn`t even bother to find shelter for rain, working their grills as streams of water ran under them.

“I've gone all around the world seeing classic rock from the `70 and `80s and this is what we fans do,” said Michael Kent from New Jersey. “Although the weather is suspect but we`re going to have a great time.”

Luckily the rain stopped by concert time, however this isn`t the first time fans have had to deal with bad weather here on the mountain.

In July, fans at the popular Warped Tour were caught up in severe weather and sent running for cover as thunderstorms came through.

Officials halted the Warped Tour temporarily as they waited for the weather to pass.

In August, it was a soggy start as campers arrived for the three day Peach Festival.

Many at this concert say they planned for months to be here and the rainy weather wasn't stopping them.

“It`s Mötley Crüe and KISS so I`d come out here because they`re awesome,”said Marissa Klinger from Mount Carmel. “I`ve seen Mötley Crüe like ten times! KISS I saw twice, for my sixteenth birthday I was right up front, seventh row.”

We did try to speak with Live Nation officials to see if this summer’s rainy weather affected this year’s concert season but no one was available to talk.
