TAYLOR -- A nonprofit organization helped make a dream come true for a teen boy who is looking to be adopted.

Kane Dagen, 17, has a commanding presence at six feet seven inches tall, especially when he's stepping out of a limousine. But his three wishes for his 18th birthday are pretty small and unassuming.

Wish number one: that limo ride. Check.

Wish number two: a pair of orange high-top sneakers. Check.

Wish number three? That's the interesting one. Kane wanted a picture next to a Kane Trucking big rig.

'Oh, yeah, when we're driving along he'll say, 'Oh, there's my name. There's one of my trucks.' And I say, 'Yep, that's right.' Because it's unusual that he spells his name Kane," said foster family member Christine Kutz.

And then there's the wish Kane has been waiting a long time for: a family.

Kane's a foster kid and will move in with the Kutz family this month. The nonprofit organization Brandon's Forever Home granted Kane's three wishes.

Wish number three is likely to have a lasting impact. Kane trucking's slogan "Kane is able" means a lot to this Kane.

"Kane is able, is basically like, I'm able to do something that's maybe hard or, you know, different to do," said Kane.

"So when you see one of these, you feel good about yourself?"

"I do," he replied.

Kane has been in the foster system for most of his life, but he says the placement he's in now has been one of the best he's had and this is also one of the best birthdays he's had.

"I think that it goes to further let him know that there are a lot of people around that care a lot about him, people that he doesn't even know that really care about him and recognize that he's a very special boy, that he is able to do anything that he puts his mind to in life," said Kutz.

After he moves in, Kane and the Kutz family can decide whether to go forward with adoption. Kane says he doesn't have any ambitions of being a truck driver.

Sometimes the simplest message or the littlest gesture is all a kid needs.

"It makes me feel good. I'm thankful for everyone doing what they can to help me out in life. So, thank you."

Kane's next wish is to play high school basketball next year.
