It's all about trick-or-treating in Scranton this Halloween

Communities across the city went all out to give kids and adults a spooky holiday.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Dozens of kids in all kinds of costumes sang spooky songs outside the entrance to Amos Towers on Jefferson Avenue in Scranton.

"All they think about all month, for the whole month of October, they talk about the parade," said Chris Simrell, Director of Carriage Barn Academy. "We talked about who lives here, and they think they're visiting grandmas and grandpas who live here and cheering them up."

"It warms our hearts to see the kids have a fun time," said Emma Russo. She has lived at the towers for 12 years. She says that every Halloween, she and the residents work to make the trick-or-treaters' stop more memorable.

"Everyone participates more and thinks of a way to make it look better. So the kid's like, they give you a smile."

At McNichols Plaza Elementary School, ghouls and goblins paraded on school grounds.

Taking a break from learning to show off some dance moves.

"Our students in fourth grade, it's their end of their year in elementary school. They get to dress up, and they practice all month," said Dr. Mina Ardestani, Principal of McNichols Plaza Elementary School. "And do a special performance for the entire school. And we get to enjoy, you know, being outside in the beautiful weather before winter comes and then we invite our parents to come to see."

Offering a Halloween experience that kids of all ages can enjoy.
