DUNMORE, Pa. — UPDATE: PennDOT has changed the date of a planned long-term detour set to affect drivers who take Route 435 in Lackawanna County.
Starting Thursday, November 30, the Elmhurst exit to Route 435 along Interstate 84 in Dunmore will close. The closure was originally scheduled for Tuesday.
It's all part of PennDOT's project to replace the twin bridges along the highway.
A detour will be in place. PennDOT recommends drivers use the Mount Cobb exit and backtrack using Route 348.
PennDOT expects the Elmhurst exit to remain closed until the fall of 2024 in Lackawanna County.
