SCOTT TOWNSHIP -- There was no hearse for this funeral procession. Instead, a rollback tow truck held the casket of David Duchnik Jr., who died after being hit by a tractor trailer on the job.

"It's showing the brotherhood," said Michael Milewski, a board member of the Pennsylvania Tower's Association. "It's showing great support for the family and the towing community."

Duchnik  was severely injured a week ago while he and his dad were responding to an earlier crash on Interstate 81 near Clarks Summit.

According to police, that's when a tractor trailer smashed into the crash scene. David Duchnik Jr. died over the weekend at the hospital.

Inside Corpus Christi church near Montdale, there was an overflow of people saying goodbye to this 29 year old, before moving outside and forming a long line of mourners, complete with plenty of tow trucks.

"It helps with the healing process to know other people are thinking of you in this time of tragedy," said Michael Burke, a family friend.

"Everybody has had it," said Jade Brewer of Montrose. "Everybody in this line has had somebody close to them hit, run by, run off the road, whatever, we've all been through it. Everybody!"

David Duchnik Jr. was laid to rest  at a mausoleum in the Montdale area.

Last week's crash is still under investigation at this time, and it could take weeks before we learn a cause.
