SCRANTON, Pa. — One person is dead after a large fight in Scranton on Tuesday night.
Police tell us a fight involving around 20 people broke out around 8 p.m. at Weston Field. Minutes later, officers say they heard gunshots.
Investigators say they found a man shot in the area of Ravine Street and Providence Road. The coroner tells us the victim died at the hospital a short time later.
The Lackawanna County District Attorney's office confirms that they now have a suspect in custody for a deadly shooting.
Scranton police returned Wednesday to the Village Park apartments to continue to collect evidence. That's about a block away from where tactical units surrounded a home at 1018 North Main Avenue Tuesday night and appeared to throw tear gas into the house. Officers said no one was inside.
It's unclear how all of this is connected, and we're waiting to hear more information, including any charges filed in this case.
