Halloween pet parade in Throop

The parade raised money for NEPA Pet Fund and Rescue.

THROOP, Pa. — Halloween is going to the dogs in Lackawanna County.

A Halloween pet parade was held at Mid Valley High School in Throop on Saturday afternoon.

All the money raised will benefit NEPA Pet Fund and Rescue. The nonprofit has helped save more than 1,400 animals since its inception in 2013.

"My favorite part is seeing all the costumes that everyone comes up with. They're so creative. I love people who do like little duo costumes with their pets, and it's just really nice to see the community come together to help out," said Mid Valley High School senior Kylee Mancuso.

The money raised will help the rescue ensure that all adoptable pets are up to date on shots, spayed or neutered, and microchipped.
