Santa's Snippers support Women's Resource Center

Professional hairstylists came together Sunday at the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County to help support the Women's Resource Center.

SCRANTON, Pa. — More than a dozen hair stylists spent Sunday supporting the Women's Resource Center, all with a pair of scissors for the 32nd Annual Santa's Snippers Cut-A-Thon.

The event is a Christmas tradition professional stylists have been donating their time to for decades, all to support victims of domestic abuse.

Stylists spent their day cutting hair for free, knowing first-hand how the styling chair can be a safe space for clients.

And anyone was welcome to take a turn in the salon chair knowing their chop was going towards a greater cause.

"The clients that come here every year, this could be their only haircut that they have, that they've gotten all year long.  It gives them the biggest boost of confidence, they feel beautiful, they feel loved," said Colleen Pattineto, hair stylist.

All proceeds are donated to the women's resource center, which works with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in the greater Scranton community.
