SCRANTON, Pa. — The time for kids to go back to school is coming fast and one business in Scranton is making sure families have everything they need for the new school year.
Sturdy Candy and Snack Shop LLC on Jackson Street hosted the school supplies and backpack giveaway on Saturday afternoon.
"So every year we try to come together. There's you know a lot of families that are struggling. A lot of people that have to pay to get stuff and we just figured why not come together with our money and support the community and support the kids that are less fortunate," said Schronda White with Sturdy Candy and Snack Shop LLC.
There were clear backpacks for students in the Scranton School District.
