SCRANTON -- A man from Scranton who scammed people out of $46,000 will not be going to prison.
Instead, a judge sentenced Joseph Gilhooley to three months house arrest and ordered him to pay back the money.
Gilhooley pleaded guilty in August. He took money from people who thought they were buying properties at county sheriff's sales, but then put the properties in his name instead.
