SCRANTON, Pa. — Veterans were thanked across Lackawanna County for their service with a free meal.
Geisinger hosted several drive-thru veteran appreciation dinners Thursday afternoon. 200 meals were given out in bags at Nay Aug Park in Scranton, and another 2,200 meals were distributed at 11 other locations across Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.
"We really value what the veterans have done for our community our country, and this our small way to give back to them," said Nicholas Coleman, Geisinger Associate Vice President.
Students also made 'thank you' cards for the Scranton veterans. Last year's event served about 2,900 meals.
