An evening of entertainment to support Detective Gilmartin

One month after Detective Kyle Gilmartin's return to Scranton, the community is still showing its support.

SCRANTON, Pa. — If you've made your way through Downtown Scranton anytime since last month, you may have seen the big banner on Spruce St. for the Gathering for the Gilmartins at Montage Mountain.

Back in January, Scranton detective Kyle Gilmartin was shot in the line of duty, and Northeastern Pennsylvania is still showing its support to the officer and his family one month after his return.

Montage Mountain has been preparing to host the Gathering for the Gilmartins, which will be held tonight from 5 to 10 p.m.

Director of Resort Relations Tyler Crawford says, "The community support through the last few months has been incredible to see and, of course, we wanted to get involved, and the event organizers came to us and said, what if we had a big event and we just loved the idea. We love the local support and especially for a good cause and a great family."

The event will have food, music, and more. A percentage of the money raised from the event will go directly to the Gilmartin family.

Crawford says the organizers of the event promise a night full of fun and surprises.

He says, "A lot of things going on, of course, there's food and beverage throughout the evening. Basket raffles, and a silent auction, and the live entertainment lineup is wild. A bunch of great local bands coming to support the community and the family. It's going to be great."

Tickets for the event are $20 pre-sale and $25 cash-only at the door. You can find the link to pre-sale tickets here. To find out more information about the event, click here
