Full Plate Gala held in Scranton

A nonprofit in Scranton that helps fight childhood hunger hosted its first gala Saturday night.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Child Hunger Outreach Partners, or CHOP, hosted their inaugural Full Plate Gala in Scranton.

The fundraiser celebrated CHOP's 5th year of operation and coincided with their move to a new location.

WNEP is a proud sponsor of the event.

"An event like tonight just really solidifies that we're here for the right reasons, and it shows us that the community supports us and that they want to help us grow, and that they level with what we're doing. And I'm just so excited to be here and to have everyone here cheering us on and helping us take this to the next step," said Dani Ruhf, CHOP CEO/Founder.

Newswatch 16's Melissa Steininger emceed the gala in Scranton.
