RailRiders to celebrate First Responders at Friday's Game

The fun will continue in this three game home stand for RailRiders, as they are thanking those who keep our country safe.

MOOSIC, Pa. — America's pastime celebrated at the PNC Field this fourth of July.  It was all about the hot dogs, baseball, and fireworks as the Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders took the field.

"You wrap as much fun in one as you possibly can, plus that double fireworks show always. One of the best in NEPA," Adam Marco, RailRiders Director of Communications.

But that fun will continue in this three-game home stand for RailRiders, as they are thanking those who keep our country safe.

"We've really been meaning to do the best thank you to those first responders, those women and men that have taken care of us- not only during the pandemic but certainly after," said Marco.

They'll be giving out 100 tickets so those first responders can fill the stands. The promotion includes people on the front lines, like nurses and doctors

"It's not just the emergency services, that maybe a lot of people had the connotation earlier. It's everyone that has really protected us over these years, that really fit into that category. We really wouldn't be where we are without them," said Marco.

As the celebration of our country continues throughout the weekend on the field.

"It's not just baseball, it's everything you come to this ballpark to expect. It's a show," added Marco.

For first responders looking for those complimentary tickets, the RailRiders will have a request form to fill out right on their website. The first pitch on Friday night against the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs is at 6:35.
