Fire company serves up fish for Good Friday

Those celebrating Good Friday were able to stop by the Artisan Volunteer Fire Company in Jermyn for a fish fry.

JERMYN, Pa. — The fish fry at Artisan Volunteer Fire Company is one of the biggest fundraisers for the fire company in Lackawanna County and it's held every year on the Friday before Easter.

Volunteers help cook and serve up thousands of meals.

Organizers say they had already served about 1,000 meals before 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The fish fry continues until 6 p.m.
