One person is dead after the crash Friday morning in Roaring Brook Township. A truck driver has been arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter.

LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — A deadly crash shut down traffic on interstate highways early Friday in Lackawanna County.

A car and a tractor-trailer crashed around 3 a.m. Friday on Interstate 380 South and 84 East in Roaring Brook Township. The ramp to I-84 at the split was closed. It reopened around 9 a.m., according to PennDOT.

State police say a tractor-trailer was traveling in the far-right lane near the I-380 south/I-84 east split and made an unsafe lane change into the far-left lane to get off at the I-84 exit in Roaring Brook Township. The truck hit a car that was traveling in the center lane going south on I-380.

According to the coroner, Edward Loftus, 60, Olyphant, the driver of the car, died from traumatic injuries in the crash.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Vadym Razhyk, 54, of Sarasota, Florida, was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person, and various summary offenses.
