DICKSON CITY, Pa. — The holidays are here, and the Viewmont Mall parking lot in Dickson City was packed with Black Friday shoppers.
"My grandkids, my son, my mother, my father, and my sister, my brother. Everybody," said Jean Magdon of Peckville.
She and her mother, Marilyn Mellody, spent the day shopping for the family while also spending some time together.
"Shopping with her, that's the best deal of my whole world is on Friday with her," said Mellody.
They've been making it a holiday shopping tradition for the past 30 years, always looking for everything.
"We plan everything. We check out all the flyers, see who's got the best deals, and then that's the first store we hit, and then we work our way down," said Magdon.
Inside the mall, decorations and a few dogs filled the concourse.
Outside of one store, Olivia Costa and Jordan Geller added to their shopping list, stopping at their second crowded mall of the day.
"Stop at KOP mall this morning, too," said Costa. "The lines are insane. You know, I definitely can see a big difference in this mall is here, too."
"I'm always the good guy, carrying all the bags. Whether it be her stuff, my stuff, always," said Geller.
While the option to shop online for holiday deals is always available, Geller prefers to find savings in person.
"I do most of my stuff online. Amazon, anything like that, but shopping in person, you can't get these deals like that online. Most of the time, it's fun," said Geller. "It brings me back to me when I was little going Black Friday shopping with my family, but now doing it in person with my fiancé and her family, it's the best."
